Choosing appropriate Platform for the Course

We have discussed a variety of tools that can be used to create an online teaching course. Some of the tools we discussed are: Google Classroom, Moodle, Black Board and Edmodo.  Personally, I did not find Google Classroom as effective as the tool that I comfortable with, which is the Black Board. Since I am teaching a module using the Black Board, it is most closest to me. However, having this understanding of the Black Board, does not mean that I will stick to what I am most comfortable with.  The next tool we covered, was Moodle. This was significantly more alien to me as a platform, since the user-interface was not as friendly as I am used to. Moodle is quite a powerful tool, considering the variety of options it offers for the users, but this lack of user-friendliness for the teacher, and subsequently the students, was outputting to me personally.  I decided on a tool that I had researched together with my partner: Edmodo. Reflection on the Module

I would like to make my final official post, about my reflection on the module of Innovative Learning and Teaching.  I came into the module expecting to learn new methods of teaching in traditional classroom, but I left the module learning much more - a whole new world of how teaching and learning can occur, with a concept that I quote to this day (the concept that stood out to me the most): connectivism.  When we started the module with theories, I really enjoyed the theories that built upon what we had previously covered in other modules. We discussed programmed instruction, which was an interesting backstory behind teaching and learning. I was shocked and inspired that theories from several decades ago are still something that we have to consider and develop today.  However, the most interesting and colorful discussion, was about connectivism. Introducing Myself

My name is Shahzaib Ahmed Khan, I am currently a student of Masters in Learning and Teaching. I work as an Academic English and Transferable Skills (AETS) Officer at Westminster International University in Tashkent (WIUT), as well as a Module Leader of I, Citizen.  I have picked this course for professional and personal development, in order to further myself as not only a teacher/lecturer/facilitator/knowledgeable other, but also to develop my overall skills of teaching and learning. Since I am the eldest son in my family, it is also important that I understand the diversity in my family, namely my three brothers and sister.  Furthermore, I would like to elaborate on my professional background. Working as the AETS officer at WIUT, I have to be able to address student inquiries coming from various different backgrounds.
